Exhausted and starving we decided to go out and get some food. We ended up walking down the street to a local ramin place which was quite good. On the way there we passed some pretty awesome shrines. I am beginning to remember things like this are pretty much all over Japan and my photos will become redundant very quickly.
After dinner we stopped at the 7-11 by our place to grab some snacks. This was quite the successful trip. Let me take you through my selections.
There was really no reason not to buy this. What could go wrong when you combine the complex and savory flavors of cheese with a well known chocolate and wafer candy? Overall it didn't taste horrible. Although it not only had cheese in the chocolate and cheese powder in the crackers it didn't really taste like cheese. I really have no words to describe it. Maybe like mildly sour white chocolate. I give it an A for effort, C- on execution.
This was not that crazy of a concept for me. They had similar chips in South Africa but the South African varieties mostly dealt with ribs. They smelled horrible but tasted like really salty barbecue chips. This gets a B-.
This i did not try but did buy. It made me feel right at home knowing i could still get authentic Georgia coffee all the way over here. Peter drank it and said it was the best iced coffee he has had since being here so i will give it an A.
I am not entirely sure what this is. I didn't actually purchase it but rather won it. After buying my goods the store clerk asked me to reach in a box and pull one card out. I did and there was a picture of what looked like a pack of gum to me. I proceeded to ask her if it tasted good or not. She looked at me funny and then gave me the box which was obviously not gum. All i can tell you is there are 100 of them in the box and they are made out of cotton.
Thats all for now. We just got into Kyoto so we are going to look around for a bit. Until next time.
